I am still reworking this illustration. It is still in a building/ breaking down process until I feel it has reached a final look. I reversed the stages below so you can see the latest. The is becoming a longer illustration due to the fact that I am not satisfied with the progress. Perhaps it is the subject matter - another building. I find myself getting a bit more expressive with the color and line. Time will tell if this is the right direction.
This is the beginning of a new piece I am creating for Mercy High School's FIESTA - their annual fundraising event. I will post the progress of this original building,of the Sisters of Mercy, opened in 1824, in Dublin, Ireland. It was called the "House of Mercy" and was intended as a refuge for distressed women. It contained school rooms and an oratory and opened its doors to Dublin's poor and needy.
I am completed with the rush of four house art commissions in the past couple of months. Each were a bit unique but a little challenging getting them all completed before the holidays while teaching art full time. Hopefully more to come.
I am at the final stages for this 24x48 print/painting. Boys with Great Dane added in and iam now awaiting final approval.
I have been busy this fall with a few commissions for homeowners. Here is another sample in the early stages. It is always enjoyable to see the reaction to the owners when they receive the final artwork or their house.
Prints are available from these series of paintings/illustrations that I created which were inspired by our St. Vincent de Paul Church. More can be seen in this gallery.
I am beginning the process of adding layers of details. This will take several more stages before being ready for printing and then adding the final colors with pastels and pencils.
