I have been working on illustrating a new book about a story told from the viewpoint of a boy and his grandfather who suffered from Alzheimer's. It is written by Carol Dargy based upon her father's life. Hopefully it will be completed this fall and published by Christmas. I am going to post the initial sketches as I complete them to show the progress.
Here a few of the first pages. I may accompany some captions as I move forward with the coloring stages.
I recently was asked to add a little paint and design to a baby's corrective helmet. Much better than the original white plastic look.
I have posted the final image/print. I took a while but went through many stages and layers.
This is the beginning of a new piece I am creating for Mercy High School's FIESTA - their annual fundraising event. I will post the progress of this original building,of the Sisters of Mercy, opened in 1824, in Dublin, Ireland. It was called the "House of Mercy" and was intended as a refuge for distressed women. It contained school rooms and an oratory and opened its doors to Dublin's poor and needy.
